Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Wednesday slightly down 0.10% or 88.24 points to open at 92,737.32 points.

On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 1.36% to close at 92,825.57 points with a daily trading volume of 6.69 billion Turkish liras ($1.15 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.8200 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, down 5.8300 at Tuesday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.6010, versus 6.6000, and one British pound traded for 7.4260 Turkish liras, compared to the last close at 7.4350.

Brent oil sold for $61.51 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.

Analysts said investors would focus on the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate decision due on Wednesday.
